Top Young Entrepreneurs

It is that time of year again!! I have attached a copy of the application for the YEScarolina Top Young Entrepreneur of the Year award. YEScarolina will choose the top 10 young entrepreneurs from the state. The selected students will attend the YEScarolina Biz Camp at the College of Charleston from July 10-16, 2008. These special students will be treated to a fun filled week of Advanced Biz Camp and guests of honor at the YEScarolina Awards Banquet on July 16, 2008!   The top 10 entrepreneurship teachers will be chosen from SC as well.

Karen Mok as the South Carolina Entrepreneur Student of the Year!

Fort Dorchester High School student, Karen Mok has been recognized as the 2007 YEScarolina Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Karen was invited to attend the Motley Rice Business Camp at the College of Charleston. She was selected to present her business plan at a YEScarolina luncheon hosted by Mayor Riley and that featured Steve Mariotti, Founder of the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) as the guest speaker.  In addition, Karen was selected to attend the Smith Barney/NFTE National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge held in New York City. Karen and 31 other elite students were chosen from over 10,000 applicants. We are so proud of you, Karen!

 

Karen’s teacher is Maria Williams, one of YEScarolina’s Top Entrepreneurship Teachers.


YEScarolina is a non-profit organization that provides public school teachers training in entrepreneurship. The teachers are provided the materials and the curriculum to become certified entrepreneurship teachers at no cost to them. To date, YEScarolina has trained over 320 teachers across the state.
